Analyzing landscape contract proposals for your HOA or Commercial Property
Managing an HOA or commercial property can be difficult. But you can make life easier for everyone, including residents and tenants, by upgrading your process for reviewing landscape contract bid proposals.
When you send a landscape project out to bid and solicit proposals from qualified professionals, the next step is to compare offers. An effective way to do this is a point-by-point (or “apples-to-apples”) comparison of information in the proposals, which should be highly detailed.
We’ve created an easy-to-use toolkit to help compare landscape contract proposals. Our toolkit contains a chart with four columns — one listing items contractors should be able to specify in their bids, another containing Serpico’s answers, and two columns in which to fill in information from competing contractors.
The chart is further divided into “in-contract” and “out-of-contract” items. Services included in a monthly service fee are in-contract items. Ones that are out-of-contract aren’t part of regular monthly contracts. They are services landscapers should be able to provide when necessary and at a professional level of expertise.
Selection of a Solid Landscape Maintenance Proposal
Obtaining great landscaping care requires performing due diligence in comparing proposed services. Analyzing proposals item-by-item will save you time, money and headaches in the future.
So don’t sign on the dotted line until you know that what you are getting is what you need and that it is the best offer among at least three bids.
