Alameda County Community Food Bank – November 2018
We are very happy to showcase Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB) as our November Property of the Month. For over 30 years, ACCFB has stood by their unwavering belief that food is a basic human right. They distribute millions of healthy meals every year and are on the forefront of new approaches to ending hunger and poverty in the community. Recent research shows it takes a family of four $92,267 to meet the basics in the Oakland metro area. Yet 65 percent of ACCFB clients have incomes less than $28,290. It would also surprise many to know that ACCFB serves 1 of every 5 of our neighbors in Alameda county, and two-thirds are children and seniors.
As part of Serpico Landscaping’s commitment to our mission of helping local organizations that strengthen the community and promote the common good, Serpico’s service team recently designed and renovated the planter beds surrounding this amazing facility. We also provide on-going maintenance to the landscaping as a donation to the facility operations and the terrific people who do such important work there each day. Additionally, Serpico’s headquarters in Hayward, CA serves as a pickup location for holiday food drive “donation barrels”. We at Serpico share the ACCFB belief that “strength lies in the power of partnership!”
